A non-governmental Organisation, the Engraced Ones Prayer/Advocacy group, has organized a summer camp for children at its new School of Grace in Jikwoyi, Abuja.
Speaking yesterday to People’s Daily about the programme, the Coordinator of the NGO, Mrs. Bibora Yinkere said the summer camp was meant to test run the School of Grace which will officially commence its programmes for special children by September.
She said the summer camp included all forms of children who registered for the programme.
“We have all forms of children coming for lessons. The programmes we have are quite attractive, away from the normal lessons. We have arts, music, dance, computer, Information Communications Technology (ICT) and various other skills.
“Our goal is to teach the children new thing and introduce them to some programmes that are not common during this period. We don’t want to bore them with what they do everyday, but to help them with other skills that is necessary for their growth.
So far, the children are doing well and many others are coming to join.”
The Coordinator further appealed to well meaning Nigerians to assist the NGO with necessary assistance to help in the smooth running of the school.
Also speaking, the NGO’s Forensic and Correctional Psychologist,Theophilus Terkura, said the programme has been effective with children trooping in daily to learn new things that the school has introduced for young children.
