Vice Chancellor Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu has appealed to stakeholders to join hands with the University Management towards ensuring the realisation of the establishment of Faculty of Law and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The Vice Chancellor made the appeal while inaugurating Committees on the establishment of the two faculties, held at the University’s Senate Chamber.

According to him, the University Management needed the support from all the stakeholders for the process to become reality, lamenting that the University has lagged behind compared to others that were established the same time with it.

He added that IBB University was established in two thousand and five with three developmental phases, stressing that the University is still in it first phase after sixteen years of existence.

Professor Adamu urged the Committees to submit reports within shortest possible time to enable the Management in turn submit all the documents to National Universities Commission (NUC) by January next year so that the resource verification visit for the two programmes could commence either by February or latest March of the same year.

The Vice Chancellor appreciated the Visitor and Governor of Niger State, Right Honourable Muhammad Umaru Bago’s administration for all the support in ensuring the growth and development of the University.

On his part, the Committee Chairman for the Faculty of Law, Prof. Abdulmumin Bala Ahmed affirmed that with the structures at Fati Lami Institute of Legal and Administrative Studies (FLILAS), the NUC will give approval as it is only interested in standard institutional structure set up.
