Ahead of the 2023 general elections, one of the groups within the Peoples Democratic Party, Arewa PDP Support group, APDPSG, has said that Nigerians will not forgive the party if it fails to liberate them from the chains of economic and security slavery.
The group called on Nigerians to rally round the PDP in its collective struggle to lead the process for a complete wrestle of power from the inactive APC government.
It equally tasked all its members to be willing tools for change, which, it said, calls for sacrifice and dedication.
The group noted that the electioneering process will soon commence, with the applaudable signing of the electoral bill.
In a statement signed by its National Secretary, Mr Desmond Minakaro, the Arewa PDP support group explained that it is its duty therefore, to continue mobilizing and sensitizing all its members, urging everyone to obtain a functional voters card, “which is our weapon for conquering poverty and insecurity that APC government has plunged us into”.
The group lauded what it described as the tireless efforts of the party’s leadership including National Working Committee, NWC, as well as Governors Niyesom Wike (Rivers,State),
Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa),
Samuel Ortom (Benue) and former Governors Ahmed Makarfi and Sule Lamido of Kaduna and Jigawa respectively in stirring the wheel of change towards a better Nigeria come 2023.
The statement reads in part, “The Arewa PDP Support Group wishes to call on Nigerians to rally round them in their collective struggle to lead the process for a complete wrestle of power from the inactive APC government.
“We therefore wish to call on our members to be willing tools for change, which calls for sacrifice and dedication.
“The electioneering process will soon commence, with the applaudable signing of the electoral bill.
“It is our duty therefore, to continue mobilizing and sensitizing our members, urging everyone to obtain a functional voters card, which is our weapon for conquering poverty and insecurity that APC government has plunged us into.
“Nigerians may not forgive us, PDP, if we fail to liberate them from the chains of economic and security slavery”, it said.
