The squabble between Governor Mohammed Umar Bago and the North Central APC Chairman, Alhaji Mu’azu Bawa Rijau thickened since the governor’s assumption of office leading to resignation of key APC state officials in the state.

The North Central APC Chairman who is from the Niger State specifically the Niger North has not been sighted in any of the state events including the just concluded Niger state first ever green economy summit due to lack of recognition and invitation extended to the APC stalwart by the State Government.

It was reliably gathered that since the coming of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, all the APC structures has the loyalists of the immediate past Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.

The Governor is allegedly exploring all means to get rid of the party officials because they did not support him during the governorship primary election where he emerged the party flag bearer.

Our reporter gathered that while planning for the just concluded Niger state green summit, the state officials invited the national chairman Alhaji Umar Abdullahi Ganduje but did not recognized the zonal chairman from Niger state for invitation.
Reacting in an interview, the state APC Publicity Secretary, Labaran Musa Sarkin Kaji said there is no rift in Niger State APC, adding that the North Central Chairman, Alhaji Muazu Bawa, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago and State APC Executives are comfortable.
