Niger state government has restated the determination of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago’s focus in the sustainance of rapid developmental strides to enhanced socio-economic development of the state.

The State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Binta Mamman made this known at a press briefing on the strides of governor Mohammed Umar Bago within four months to mark Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary held in Minna,

She revealed that governor Bago has identified some strategic areas of his administration as a pillar to include; security, agriculture, education, tourism, health, science and technology, civil service, urban renewal, revenue generation, local government administration and youth and women development among others.

Binta Mamman added that the focus is narrowed down to four major areas of provision of social amenities, good governance, sustainable economy and urban renewal in the realization of the ‘New Niger’ agenda of the present administration.

The commissioner assured of embarking on quality projects that would have direct impact on the lives of the Nigerlites, hence he has chosen to remain focused and committed in building the state to an inviable height.

She enumerated some of the governor Bago led administration achievements to include; approval of monthly N30 million to NECO to offset state owned debt, provision of 20 operational vehicles to security agencies, signing of contracts worth billions of naira.

Others were procurement and distribution of thousands of fertilizer and farm inputs to farmers, enforcement of 2022 revenue law, distribution of food items worth N3 billion to the 25 local governments as palliative care to cushion the effect of subsidy removal.
