The Chief of Defense Staff General Christopher G. Musa has assured of a deliberate efforts to ensure synergy and sustainable joint training exercise for the Nigerian military in order to combat the insecurity bedeviling the country.
He made the disclosure at the closing of the 2nd Training Exercise of Mugun Bugu 2023 at the weekend in Kontagora, saying that the exercise is tailored towards training of a typical NA diversion in all arms manovres within a joint environment.
Represented by the Chief of Doctrine, Major General Jal A. Jimoh who stated that the Nigerian Air Force has been integrated to provide air power and support to the ground troops in achieving the objectives.
He charged the Armed forces on patriotism and appreciated their commitment, dedication and resilience to scale up professionalism however thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Assembly got support and understanding assuring of a total loyalty to the federal government of Nigeria.
In his speech, the Chief of Army Staff Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja said the joint training exercise is necessary in a complex to ease fighting together for combat efficiency in addressing insecurity in various regional challenges in the country.
Represented by the Chief of Training Army, Major General S.G Mohammed urged the trainees to leverage on the knowledge gained in fulfilling their constitutional mandate and assured of poised to serve better Nigeria better.
He maintained that leaders of the NA will in this year’s conference to review its operations and training designs to develop new policies and strategies that will guide 2024 undertakings and beyond.
The COAS added that Mugun Bugu exercise 2023 has demonstrated the genuine commitment to producing highly versatile and intellectually sound military professionalism in the country.
Also, the exercise commander, Major General L.T Omoniyi explained that the aims of the Mugun Bugu exercise is to enhanced collaboration, counter insurgency, enhanced preparedness of the troops and to activate real times of operations to eliminate banditry activities in parts of Niger state especially Zungeru, Tegina, Kagara and Kontagora areas.
The exercise witnessed joint training exercise, fire power demonstration, inspection of guard and presentations to various dignitaries especially the top senor military officers.
