The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Audi, on Tuesday, led other officers of the corps to receive the Oxford–AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

The officials of the National Primary Healthcare and medical team stormed the agency’s headquarters in Sauka, Abuja to vaccinate officers of the corps yesterday.

Speaking after receiving his own vaccine, Audi, charged all officers of the command to receive their own vaccine.

“ I have received my own vaccine and I am hale and hearty. I urge all my officers to receive their own. You should also bring your spouses and other family members.

“Only children above 18 are qualified to receive the vaccine.”

He said as frontline workers tasked with ensuring protection of critical infrastructure of government, the NSCDC officers must take the lead and show example to other people.

“This vaccine will bolster our morale to continue our duty without any fear of the virus”.
