The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has assured Nigerians that his administration will deliver on its tasks of providing security for lives and property, protection of Critical National Assets and infrastructure (CNAI) as well as protection of agro-allied investments in Nigeria.
The CG gave the assurance when members of the Katsina state Elders Forum, paid him a courtesy visit.
He said his administration has carefully established a well trained Female Armed Squad who are to implement the safe school initiative.
He added that the Agro Rangers personnel and those in Anti- vandal unit, are deployed in different locations to ensure agricultural and Agro allied investments and other infrastructure respectively, are protected.
On the dastard acts of bandits and kidnappers which continue in spite of all measures put in place, the Commandant General called on the delegation and the public in general to support the corps and other sister agencies in confronting the asymmetric attacks.
Audi said the unfortunate asymmetric attacks require collective intelligence to confront it headlong.
Earlier in his speech, the representative of Katsina Elders Forum and leader of the delegation, Senator Abba Ali, explained that their visit was to seek the intervention of the corps in containment of insecurity in the state.
According to Ali, the worrisome insecurity is affecting agricultural, economic and every activities in the state which made it necessary for them to solicit for more deployment of NSCDC personnel to the state curb it.
The visit according to Senator Ali, was also to felicitate with Audi on his appointment o had served in Katsina as the third substantive Commandant General of NSCDC and condole with him on the demise of his father a month ago.
