It his determination to ensure protection of critical national infrastructure of government, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Audi on Thursday met with the various states and zonal commandants of the corps to jaw jaw on how to arrest various security challenges in the country.

Speaking on the importance of the meeting at the headquarters of the corps in Abuja, Audi said the meeting was necessary to rob minds on the successes and challenges recorded by the corps to advance areas of improvement.

While addressing the senior officers, Audi said there is no room for compromise.

He urged them to be alert to their responsibilities to ensure a peaceful Christmas celebrations for all.

“As a corps, we will always do our best to rid all criminal elements from the country.

“You must be at alert at all times in discharging your duties.

“Our officers across the country will ensure protection of critical national assets of government.”

Speaking further, Audi said the corps is also collaborating with sister agencies to protect students in various schools under the safe school initiative.

He said the corps recently thwarted 14 cases of attempted kidnapping across the country.

“I would like to assure Nigerians that the corps will always protect schools from bandits. Our female squads and other officers are always available to ensure safety of students.

“The partnership with the military and other sister agencies is yielding results, and we will always step up to provide a peaceful environment for all Nigerians.”
