Ahead of Saturday and Sunday’s national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, the leadership of Arewa PDP support group and Its coordinators in the nineteen Northern States as well as the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, have endorsed Comrade Mohammed Kadada Suleiman as their consensus candidate for the position of National Youth Leader of the party.
Suleiman, a 25-year old faithful party member from Kaduna, was formally unveiled as the consensus candidate of the group at the weekend by its leaders.
The position of National Youth leader of the PDP was micro zoned to Northwest, with Kaduna/Katsina given the opportunity to produce same.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the National Secretary of Arewa PDP support group, Comrade Desmond Minakaro explained that the choice of the consensus candidate was arrived at after an extensive deliberations with various Youth groups within the Party and haven X-rayed the profiles of all the aspirants.
According to Minakaro, “We are here today (Saturday) to unveil our consensus candidate for the position of National Youth Leader of our dear party, PDP, during the forthcoming National Convention slated for 30th and 31st of October 2021.
“The position of National Youth leader was micro zoned to Northwest, with Kaduna/Katsina given the opportunity to produce same.
“After an extensive deliberations with various Youth groups within the Party and haven X-rayed the profiles of all the aspiring candidates within the zone, it was unanimously agreed that Comrade Mohammed Kadada Suleiman, a 25 year old faithful party member from Kaduna State, is more qualified to pilot the affairs of PDP Youths as our National Youth leader.
“The choice of Comrade Mohammed Kadada Suleiman was based on merit. It was discovered that our said consensus candidate is a true party loyalist, an experienced party Youth, who has, over the years, participated in various organizations within PDP.
“This has no doubt equipped him with all the relevant experience needed to give our party youths and indeed the party, the needed stamina for a well anticipated Youth leadership.
“By this choice, our party, PDP has demonstrated to the whole world that it is committed to ensure full youths inclusive in the leadership process of our country.
“We have not only ensured that our choice falls within the youth age bracket of between 18 to 35, but have gone to even endorse a younger person from the bracket.
“This will ensure that even if he serves the two terms of eight years, he will still complete his tenure within that same age bracket. This is commendable”, he said.
The support group pointed out that the
“Not Too Young To Run” bill passed by National Assembly, some time back under this APC administration, is fully being put into practice by “our democratic party, the PDP. A great sign of purposeful leadership. We lead,while others follow”.
The group therefore called on all delegates from the nineteen Northern states and FCT and most especially “our counterparts from the Southern region of the country” to vote for Comrade Mohammed Kadada Suleiman for the position of National Youth Leader of PDP during the National Convention.
